sorry for the dumb question, but new versions of msn don't work on my husbands computer. and i was always fond of msn 6.2. i downloaded a version from oldversion.com and it said to find the oppropriate patch on this site to get it working without being forced to update. however i can't find or figure out what the correct patch is. i tried downloading a patch for all messenger 6 versions (no idea if it was the right one) but it said it couldn't find the msn file, despite me pointing it to it.

could somone please direct me to the correct patch?

thankyou.

Couple of patching proposals.

Since by now it's painfully obvious that the mess patch project is dead, I want to make a couple of proposals...

The first proposal is to offer Rolando (creator of the patch) that users pay for a new version of the mess patch.

I know I would.

I'm sure somebody on this site staff can actually get in touch with Rolando, and ask his opinion on this matter.

Although they've been lazy or cruel enough not to ask him or tell us so far what is going on, they might run this proposal by him.

The second proposal is to open a thread that compile workarounds, cheats and cracks that users have found or designed themselves and prove they worked for patching messenger.

There is something similar on other site for Windows Vista and it's called "vista tweaks", maybe a "messenger tweaks" can be created here.

Hope at least one of this options is considered by the staff here before they let this site die along with the patch...

Remove Contact List Personal Message

Hello. Thank you, firstly, for this superb program. I am a loyal download.
I'm just looking at possibly installing version Mess Patch 8.5.1302.1018.
I am running Messenger Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8064.206).

I have messpatched this already (I think with with a prior version),
but when I did, I couldn't see an option to remove peoples "Personal Messages" on the contact list window.

I just like to have a plain list of contacts on the contact window (I edit the names using NickNames).

At the moment, I have:

SID - Sids Personal Message Blah Balh
RALF - Hello People, it's RALFY BOY!!!

Etc. Etc.

All I want is:

SID
RALF

Has messpatch been updated with an option to remove personal messages from the contact list yet please?

If not, could you please try as soon as possible, peoples comments are ruining my Feng Shui. I know previous versions of messpatch allowed this, but maybe it's not been implemented into messpatch for Messenger 2009 yet. It's quite possible I just missed the option as well (lol!)...

Cheers, thanks very much-o.
