Bear in mind, it may be rubbish at the moment, but it is still in BETA.

No matter how hard Apple try, Windows and OS X will always be a big difference when it comes to using Safari.

i don't think it was ready for even a Beta release!

Whole interface wont load properly for me, no buttons or menus appear, also pages were much slower to load, and i was unable to type in a web address, really did suck,

Downloaded, Installed, Ran, within 5 mins, i had uninstalled it.

Very true but I think their new site makes up for any shoddy design work .

the thing about it loading quicker than firefox or opera doesnt seem to be true.. it spent a good minute trying load up this forum when firefox loads it a few seconds...

edit: oh and the thing about it being beta and having bugs is fine, but its not an excuse to not display half the text on the website....

Nah, Safari is what you get if you take internet explorer, remove all the (few) useful features and add a bunch more exploits, holes and memory leaks.

Nah, IE doesnt rape the system its on and atleast has a few functions that are useful (Safari has none). The only reason I ever use Safari is to check if my code works at work. I use firefox all the rest of the time (Safari has nothing that even comes CLOSE to FireBug and similar tools).

Yes. Yes it is. It still makes firefox a much more useful tool for web developers.

Sure I do, I know how bad it is. OS X memory management you say? Looks more like the exact same memory management that they took out of the Unix codebase when they first started developing it to me. You mean precache'ing everything to memory to make sure that it loads 'fast'? What about macbooks with slow disks? Run out of ram and its as slow as hell. Whats up with only being able to buy slow-RAM for Mac's too?

We've got 5 24" iMac's and 3 Mac Pro's at work, each with 2GB+ RAM which we use for web development and video editing, these are the machines that I use daily. Even when we're not running Xgrid they are incredibly slow when compared to our equivalant redhat and windows boxes.

I use powerful Mac's and PC's every day pretty much for my work, and i'd still opt for a PC over a mac. Even with this new joke of an operating system they're bringing out.

As for Safari I dont really know any professional mac users that use it nowadays. Enabling the JavaScript console (and debug menu) on my iMac was annoying enough. Don't you find it strange that the Mac userbase is increasing pretty heavily now, yet the browser share stays low?

I've started using the Safari browser, and I have to say it is very good

Although I do miss middle clicking bookmarks to open in new tabs...

I can't see a single feature on Leopard that makes it any better than Vista, I'm surprised they weren't on the last version anyway.

Why do Apple even bother if they think they're getting all of the Windows fans on Apple's side.
And hey, having Safari on Windows will make people think 'wow zomgz, get no mac, stick with pc! you haves all mac programs on pc! wowaa!'
I despise Apple's way of advertising, it's not worth it.
