I have that laptop!

It looks good, but mine is always breaking down. Within 3 weeks of getting it, the DVD drive broke, the back panel fell off, and the screen had a row of dead pixels. They offered to fix it, and its all fine except DVD's dont play in its DVD player.

Otherwise a good computer lol.

Tom, your dell is older, and probably is slower than the dimension 5100s, and above. My computer doesn't have sufficient cooling, therefor, i get bad lag. When running an app like Macromedia Freehand, or a game, my computer completely lags out, and it crashes. The dimension 2400, 3000, 4700, and 8400 (and some other models) only have 2 fans in total. Well, my processor (intel p4 prescott 3.4 ghz) intel said can get up to 75 Degrees Celcius. Whenever i run a game, or something like that, the fans start roaring, and then the comp gets noisy as hell. Now, do you understand why many people do not like Dell computers?

Haha, yeah! As soon as you get them, you have to upgrade the RAM right away (usually they only put in 256Mb of RAM, which is total cheap)....

Well then Why dont you call dell? There amazing for things like that, we had problems with our fans, and other things, we called dell, we had someone at our house about 4 hours later...Oh And i have a demension 8200, Many upgrades though. I absolutely love my dell!

Yeah exactly, you get what you pay for, but if you dip into your pockets and buy one of the top of the line dells, im sure you wouldnt be dissapointed.

And one thing i love about dell, is the fact that you can call them with any kind of hardware problem, and they will call someone out there as soon as possible! And never have to pay a penny!(from what i know, and what ive been through)

Dells are defiently not for hardcore computer people, there for the people that dont want to put there own computer together, either cuz they dont have the money, or they just dont have the know how...in my case I didnt have the money.
My mom bought a dell, and she absolutely loves it, cuz its not like shes a hardcore gamer or anything. And i love it, cuz she used to call me when she needed help with her shitty HP, Now she just calls dell up!

My opinion, Dells are great computers...More money you put into it, the better the quality.
