There is a new msn virus out called webcam_015 I got it 2 days ago. It is sent randomly to you by your contacts. If sent it do not accept it. If you accepted it delete it immediatly. If you have already clicked on it it should have sent itself to all your online contacts and infected your computer. The only affects of this virus I can see so far are being randomly disconnected from the msn network (by randomly i mean every minute) , and not being able to change your display name because of a bug not letting you know you are not connected. I do not have any information on how to get rid of it yet, but if you do post it here.

I have just realized, I think this virus is another form of the funny.exe virus, with a different name, because it came back and installed itself on the harddrive.

I also tried your way of getting rid of the funny.exe virus. It took away the virus. But not the affects. I am still getting logged off randomly. It seems to be triggered by me changing my display name.

I'm thinking someone took the funny.exe virus and modified it with some other affects.

I guess I should time it then, if it wasn't random I would know it was still the virus. But it is a little confusing because, you can be talking to your friend then you will go offline and it will tell you your last 5 messages didn't make it to your contact. Hmm...which means you are offline when you don't even know it, then the computer catches up on the lag realizes it's not on msn anymore and signs you back on.

you can posess virii without actually having run them... thats how they get modified i guess... and if theres a new one out, ppl will wanna modify it once it becomes detected, to cause the most amount of probs msn_sad.gif

.pif:

Windows Program Information File

A Program Information File dates back to the early versions of Windows. Basically, it's an information file that when you click on it the information in the file is used by Windows to run some program; including code that can be in the PIF file. It is a potentially dangerous file type and one should never click on one received via E-mail without extensive knowledge of exactly what it will do first. Note: This file type can become infected and should be carefully scanned if someone sends you a file with this extension.

Why did you open a file with a suspicious extension?
