The only way to do this is if you know the username and password of that contact, otherwise no.

I think your friend must not have blocked them properly, if a person is blocked there is no way they can communicate with them. Ask them if the icon on their contact list has changed, thus proving that they have been properly blocked.

Have you tried using the nokia software updater to see if there is a new version of your phones software?

There aren't many IM applications that only cover Messenger these days.

You could have a look at:

  • Pidgen
Multi-Protocol client that allows you to connect to a lot of different networks. Simple design and quite popular because it can work on both linux and windows machines.
    http://www.pidgin.im/about/
  • Mercury Messenger
Made in Java so a bit bulky, memory consuming and slow. But has webcam support and all that you would expect from the latest version of Windows Live Messenger. Also allows you to sign into multiple accounts.
    http://mercury.im/
  • Trillian
Another multi protocol client, one of the better looking and better made ones.
    http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/

I've been out of the game for a little while, so this list may be a little out of date, but in fairness its worth giving them all a go and seeing which one you like the look of msn_happy.gif

If you’re the proud owner of an Android-powered phone, you can find eBuddy for Android in the Android Market. The familiar eBuddy quality and features you know, now also available on Android. :-)

Here are some unique features of eBuddy for Android:
  • eBuddy ID – one login for MSN, Yahoo!, AIM, Facebook, Google Talk, and ICQ
  • Free, fast, reliable IM experience
  • Stay online when you get a call
  • New message alerts in the Android status bar
  • Switch easily between chats
  • Support for emoticons, sound, vibration, and buzzers
  • Automatic reconnect
  • Receive offline messages

More information: http://blog.ebuddy.com/index.php/ebuddy-bl...dy-for-androiod

It was only released the other day, but by first impressions its by far the best Messenger application for Android in my opinion.

You'll be able to find it in the market place, but yeah, just thought I would let people know in case you're still using the horrible GUI in Hi MSN Beta or the old school text based GUI in Meebo IM msn_happy.gif

Odd, when ever I open this specific topic in Opera, it redirects me to here.

----
http://www.adxtn.com/?dn=msig.h-master.net...yJBpgSrlsrtNIx4
----

I don't advise anyone to click it I was just wondering why.

After a little investigation its because of alexp2_ad's signature. He uses H-Masters msig service which no longer exists and which redirects to a averted holding site.

Signature has been removed, alexp2_ad has been informed and you shouldn't expect this to happen again.

You should be able to speak to contacts who use WLM if you are using 7.5 because they both use the same service.

People who have WLM should be able to talk to people who use 7.5 and vice versa.

There should be no difference :/

What problems do you encounter when trying to add new contacts?

Changing Webcam Size

In a webcam conversation, click the little arrow to the top left of the webcam image

Once you have done this, scroll down to the menu option called "Size" and select whichever size you require

The easiest way of creating skins is to use the Messenger Plus! Live skinning support.

as noted in the system requirements - http://download.live.com/SystemRequirements.aspx

You can use the latest version of Windows Live Messenger with XP as long as you have service pack 2 installed.

You can download service pack 2 using windows update:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

You can download the latest version of Windows Live Messenger here:
http://download.live.com/

Hope this solves your problem

Has polygram always involved editing the registry? I thought it was a reshack on msgres.dll

Nope its normally done via patching the msnmsgr.exe file msn_happy.gif

or done within memory (like plus/jrnz loader does)

Many of you will have several WLIDs, and want to sign into Messenger with more than one of them. Until now you had to seek refuge in a patch or add-on to be able to do so. Not anymore! Microsoftís John Weisenfeld just shared a little trick with me to enable this, which Iím going to share with you.

The trick involves registry editing, so please follow these steps very carefully:

1. Start regedit (admin)
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Live
3. Right click Messenger and create a new DWORD called MultipleInstances
4. Right click the newly added registry key and choose Modify
5. Set the Value data to 1
6. Close regedit

All done! Now you can launch Windows Live Messenger as many times as you want, and sign in with as many WLIDs you want, on one computer. Just donít try to sign in with the same WLID more than once on one computer or it will throw error 80071392 at you!

Enjoy!

yep thats totally possible msn_happy.gif

Adding and setting a reference:

The first thing you need to do is add a messengber reference to your project.
So when you start, create a new project and when the form design is in view, at the top of the window, goto "Project" and then "Add Reference".
When the dialog appears, click the "COM" tab at the top of the window, then navigate the list for "Messenger API Type Library". Click on it and press, you have now added a reference to your project.

Now you want to set the reference. Navigate to your code view (you can do this by double clicking on the form) and write:
CODE
Public Class Form1

    Public WithEvents msnobj As MessengerAPI.Messenger

    Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

        msnobj = New MessengerAPI.Messenger

    End Sub
End Class

This sets msnobj as the messenger obj in vb2008.

The rest you should be able to gather from this thread:
http://forum.mess.be/index.php?showtopic=357

Good luck
