Hey guys,

I decided to come on and see what's been happening over the last 6 months but it seems there's really not much to see!

I remember the days when if you where off this forum for a few hours you'd spend an hour trying to catch up with what you missed!

Where has everyone gone?

I got a couple of Mac's and got rid of my Winbl0wz computer and after lack of support for any Mac MSN Client anywhere I started losing interest and then the continuous promise of a site upgrade was kinda like going around in circles!

So, thats my excuse! Where is everyone else? msn_tongue.gif

Since you've already tried Adium, there's nothing really I can suggest. MSN Messenger for the mac really sucks. I doubt they'll ever release an update to par with an existing Windows version. There are plugins for Adium that allow more accessibility on the WLM protocol though, such as webcam support etc.

Ooh fancy linking me to the plugin for Adium for webcam msn support? Can't seem to find it.

Hey guys, Earlier this year I got myself the new iMac then last week, decided to get the new MacBook, as it's so damn sexy!

But anyway, I use MSN For Mac, I know Adium looks nicer etc but It's not got very many features - but then again neither does MSN For Mac. Any idea what's going on here, I mean - You can't even use your inbuilt webcam unless your on a business account msn_asl.gif it's rubbish. Also, the viewing of the contacts, you can't choose the more info type view that shows the display picture also - which is very irritating... Don't get me started on the not recieveing offline messages!

Anyone else that feels my pain have any more information on if these features would be coming in the future, For a short time (10 minutes) I ran the crossover application and had it so that WLM was running on my mac desktop although, Windows being Windows started slowing crap down etc!

Suggestions, anything please?

I love my Mac and everything about it althought - Microsoft are seem to be hanging onto the only thing they have left.

Cheers.

Here's my current setup...

Took the picture with my Phone (Nokia N95) Good camera on it, just no image stabilisation!

The TV there is going up on the wall soon and will be wall-mounting my home cinema kit speakers... Also considering floating shelves for my 360 and my htk dvd player.

Hey,

Just bought an iMac for the Apple website.

I've been wanting one for AGES! So finally decided to do something about it, I'm looking for some pro mac user advice...

Do you know any good websites for mac components / downloads?

What I should have in my mac and what i shouldn't have! Whats recommended and whats not?

Any information shared would be great!

Cheers.

I see you've covered basically everything here other than what version of WLM your using...

Go to: Help > About Messenger

See what version it is... If it's any lower than 8.5.1302.1018 then try upgrading! Or even if that is the version your using, try totally uninistalling it and downgrading to MSN 7.5?

Also do you have any sort of addons, msg plus addons, msg discovery, etc?

First of all, dude, breathe!! pp.gif

Secondly, go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Click the 'View button' then right click the contacts and click 'Add to contacts' its quicker than entering all there emails again.

Hope that helps!

I'm using the newest version on WLM 8.5 btw! :]

There's a new password hi-jacker website thats going around.

Your contact signs on via mobile (apparently) sends you this message

"http://www.bo***.info/list msn_wink.gif"

Which then redirects you to a MSNListStatus.com website...

Once you've put in your username and password it logs into your msn and hi-jacks your msn.

If you're one of the unfortunate people thats had this done, change your password and secret question! msn_happy.gif

I just said I could get it elsewhere cheaper so he gave it to me for 35/mo, free handset, 600mins/mo, 600texts/mo. It's best just to complain with these people and say you can get it cheaper elsewhere, they tend to drop the price pp.gif.

When I went to purchase the price went up to 49.99 for the handset and 8GB memory card, ended up getting it free! msn_wink.gif

The whole "I can get it cheaper elsewhere" obviously works with them (I guess they're on comission) I'm not so when a customer says that to me, I go "Nobother, see you later!" pp.gif The majority of the time they come back for the original price! msn_wink.gif

I don't like this feature, I will never know if someone has logged on my account, HUDE SCURITY RISK

I take it you don't go out either... JUST INCASE you get knocked down?

Calm the F*ck down dude! Make sure you don't give your password? Simple Solution. (Maybe?)

I guess there will also be an option on WLM to remove the function of multiple logins for paranoid people like yourself.

Your best bet is to actually contact your server admin and ask if hes done anything to the server to restore a backup or if its a 'glitch' in the system...

What he was meaning by violations may included illegally obtained forum software, illegal downloads etc... If that is the case - your server admin would usually contact you about the illegal content so I don't believe it would be that.

Well im getting a deal with o2 for the Nokia N95

18 Months

35 a month = 1000 texts & 600 minutes (with the option to have either unlimited texts or calls, I'll be going for texts)

So the actual deal is

35 a month = Unlimited Texts & 600 Minutes

And the Nokia N95 is only going to cost me 19.99 Includes an 8GB memory card - If you don't want the memory card then the phone is free.

Now that, I think is a great deal!!

Apart from that, spending the majority of nights in whatever pub of my choice! pp.gif

We always get people on here looking for a free domain and hosting, was just given this link to me on msn:

http://www.one.com

It is free domain and hosting (any domain, inc .co.uk, .com, .be, .eu, etc) aswell as hosting... All you've gotta pay is a Setup fee and VAT - Setup fee seems to be 9. Didn't order far enough to find out which VAT price is!

Just so the mods know, I am not advertising my site or anyone I knows site, just sharing some information with fellow messers! :]

I know this is an old thread but wondering peoples views on th iTouch now that its in most stores! I've been playing around with it for the past couple of days and I must say, it's not too bad - not sure about 200 though for such little memory - It gets dirty very easily and rubbing it on your shirt doesn't work (need some cloth for it) The whole side view thing works but only when playing music / movies - Not in the normal menu but hey, its nice! Very slim! :]

Also just thought i'd say, Although I love 24, Kiefer Sutherland needs to get his act together. What also annoys me is 24 fans saying because he is a star and needs to finish shooting, then he shouldn't serve anytime for the drink driving charges.

hah lol i kinda agree with you there but he will be serving time...

He will be shooting the first half of season 7, stop for a 6 week break in December and will be serving a 30 day sentence then! Tbh, I think its awesome that they're letting him do this, not cause hes a star but because 24 is such a big show!! pp.gif

I do agree hes got to get his act together or it will be tragic for Jack! pp.gif

Paradox, you're clearly not cut out for that kinda stuff, stick to MSN'n msn_wink.gif .. you say the first two seasons where good then the rest went to plot - haven't you seen the third season!? I'll admit, I'm a big 24 fan! and im sick of people slating it because they cant keep up! it's the same as Lost "omg too many things are happening at the same time, its messing with my head" - That usually means you gotta go back to Coronation Street and Home & Away...

Everyone keeps slating 24 saying its all messed up but you's would get bored if it was the same characters season in, season out for every season, I mean - how many other programmes have the balls to kill of main characters? None! :]

I love 24 and Jack Bauer msn_embarrassed.gif (another person says he isn't real and i wont be happy! pp.gif)

Looking forward to the 24 Movie... For those of you that don't know, theres rumours its being shot in Europe (Keifer has always wanted to shoot it in London) so apparently its going to be within a day (probably a 2.5 hour movie) and they're basically going around Europe... Maybe chasing a bomb, I don't know! It is only rumours :]

Oh and its getting shot after Season 7 msn_wink.gif

[END RANT]

Favourite movies:
Braveheart, Day after tomorrow, American Pie (1,2,3), harold and kumar, spiderman, transformers, king kong, The Kingdom, Independence day, Michael Moore movies, die hard, austin powers, shaun of the dead, 28 days/weeks later, ferris beullers day off, something about mary... god damn i cant be bothered going through all of them.. thats only a small amount! pp.gif

I overclocked my AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800 (I bought it a few weeks before it half in price! msn_sad.gif It was at 1 point 180!) It's standard at 2.00GHz and i've clocked it to 2.40GHz, also got AMD Cool 'n' Quiet on and it's running smoothly! Just played about with my bios and its fine :]
