Try this:
Open your My Documents folder.
Open the "My Received Files" folder.
Open the folder with a part of your e-mail in it and some numbers after it.
Open the "History" folder.
Search for the email of the contact that made wlm crash with again numbers behind it and a .xml extension and give this file another name.
Now try if it works again, if not you might also want to try if it works without add-ons like MsgPlus..

Omg, their support field is so stupid, always standard e-mails back and they never read what you actually wrote. msn_down.gif (ow I see some globally read it)

But personally I don't think you'll be just getting a digital signature for it. It would be abusable for virusses which would be auto-executed whenever someone plays the wink for example or loads the ddp, so they won't just give it to anyone, even if they pay lots of money for it.

All who got the signature now are AmericanGreetings, 3HGroup, MobileMoney, WeeWorld (and MSN itself ofcourse), all big international company's who are partnered with MSN itself... So if you want the signature, you probably have to become a big company and partner with MSN or something...

Hey, in firefox the news page gets a horizontal scrollbar in the iframe, which is quite irritating, cause you need to scroll left and right all the time to read the right parts of the news things.
It's caused by the http://www2.meegos.com/it?tcid%3d1629%26prod%3d8862EC57-1EDC-4B0B-950A-09E0ED3FCD04
text, so maybe just cut the e-mailing bs and just create a text link, linking to http://www2.meegos.com/it/?tcid=1629&prod=...0A-09E0ED3FCD04 ? msn_thinking.gif

Manual adding is out of the question, as I'd have to fiddle all day with that msn_grin.gif

I'll try emoadder and see what it's about.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This program complains about "put it in the same directory as your emoticons" - and I have done that O_o

Posts merged - Nat

It lists all .gif's, .png's, .jpg's, etc. and if none is found then it gives that message. .dat is not in that list.
I've made a modified version ( my source is on a hd I still can't get to work msn_sad.gif ) which will list .dat instead of .jpe ( don't think anywone uses .jpe, it's the same as .jpg msn_tongue.gif ).

Anyway, it'll not give the right shortcuts, cause they are stored encrypted in a mapfile. if you want to backup including shortcuts you need to use beas manager ( manager.zip ) or another backupping program.

Anyway here's the EmoAdder modified to list .dat files:
[attachmentid=4600]

Attached File  EmoAdder_datmod.zip ( 36.37K ) Number of downloads: 24

It was enabled by default in the beta's (the ones which had that option)
But in the final it's disabled by default again.
Probably because of the reactions when it was enabled by default " WAAAH BUG!!!!1111 the 'Person says:' is gone msn_surprised.gif " and they didn't want that again when releasing it. msn_tongue.gif

Thx, for all the info. As for dp, now I know why they dissapeare after time (my Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 gets too full and it auto deletes files to make room for other). The display pictures of the contacts should be stored elsewere like in Trillian where they are stored under the same folder as log files, send files and dp under the contact email of contact. Hopefully they will take Trillian as example and correct this or someone will write a patch to change the default store folder of wlm. A all in one Wlm program would be nice with the option of transfering the backupped content to other computers as well.

Only the DP's of your contacts are stored there, but when you open the contact card or the conversation again when the DP is gone, it will download it again, so it doesn't matter that it gets erased after some time, cause when it's needed it'll be there again. msn_thinking.gif

I keep seeing this answer to backup the folder in your %appdata% and then put it on your other comp and stuff, but that way is not working, if you put it on the other pc the content will not be recognised and so you'll be left with the default content only.

You need to backup the content with a backup program and then reďnstall the backupped content on the other comp. The backup folder only works afaik only when you do it on the same computer without formatting it.

And about the contactlist and it's display pictures:
The contact list is stored online so you will get the same contact list on any computer without the need of backupping or something.
The display pictures of the contacts are stored in the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5" as .bin files with 8 capital letters and numbers as file names. The received custom emo's are stored there too.
But the DP's are also stored on their computer so when you go on your other comp they'll send it to you again, so I don't see why you would want to back it up...

Download ResHack.
Extract the zip to a folder and open ResHacker.exe.
Choose File->Open open the file "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msgsres.dll"
In the left side you see some folders, open 4000, then 202, then 1033.
Click the Action menu and choose "Save resource as binary file"
Now save it somewhere as 202.png.
This file has all the static default emoticons in it, make sure you don't move them and stick to the 19*19 areas when editing.
After you edited go to reshack again and choose Action->Replace Other Resource...
Click Open file with new resource and choose the file you just saved.
Now fill in the following information:
Resource Type:
4000
Resource Name:
202
Resource Language:
1033
and click the Replace button.
Now close WLM completely if you haven't already and choose File->Save.

If you want to edit the animated icons too, do the same but change the 202's in the story in 257t/m267.
