And speak of the devil, a friend of mine just logged in, forwarded an email to me that he got for beta testing 9.0.

He's gonna zip the thing up when he gets it and send me it free of charge =D

I think the beta client only lets the accepted beta accounts log in (from what i remember from the old 8.0 beta..), so spreading the client is pointless unless someone cracks it msn_nerd.gif

pending also.. kinda worried since only my old msn account was invited, not my current one.. Would the 9.0 beta replace 8.5 or install in a new directory? I think i'll need my normal 8.5 for actual chatting..

Yes, version 9.0 Beta will most probably install over 8.5 as has happened with previous Windows Live/MSN Messenger Beta's.

This is the biggest news on the net right now and noone is commentating? Mess.be must not be so Messenger exclusive at all....pp.gif

PS: See dwergs? This is the type of news that I would love to help out and report on a Mess.be frontpage quickly and as soon as it happens. For now, only 2 members know of this beta and It does not get its frontpage when It is accually very important. I don't mean this as in offensive way or trying to be above you, just saying Id love to help Mess.be out msn_happy.gif

And that's a very good way of breaking NDA and getting yourself removed from ALL future betas. When you work for such a huge site like Mess.be, and BETA test, there's certain information you can't release.

btw, how do you become a butterfly, qualify for mcse or something?

Being a over-all excellent beta tester, getting your name out there, and getting nominated by current Butterflies msn_happy.gif.

Unless the WLM team wanted this to be leaked. Lets not forget the butterflies speak directly with them.

And thanks for the news on when people will start to move off of the pending stage Salem, was wondering that myself.

It's out to the beta testers who are accepted.

Just go to the area, and click downloads in Connect, and it's there. I'm testing the new features, not too shabby. pp.gif

Posting a screenshot of my Connect site is NOT in the NDA. NDA is talking about the beta itself and taking screenshots.

And like said: How can you say that when you leaked the feature list? That is breaking the NDA and you should be automatically kicked from the beta right now.

And I doubt they will either. Other than the about dialog to prove it's existence, I doubt any screenies will be released... for awhile. pp.gif

It had already been posted on Neowin, I simply copied and pasted it. Needless to say that I was unaware that it was the actual list on Connect. Already been handled, Ben pp.gif.

Actually, if you bothered to read the discussion in the private newsgroup, you'd say different. When you received the invitation, you were asked not to disclose ANY information, including the fact that the beta started.

If the build gets out too widely and starts causing problems on the service we may have to shut it down. We don't want to do that and we know you don't want that to happen, so please keep it to yourself.
