I have a 13" MacBook I use when i'm out and about and for XCode. For anything other than basic stuff its pretty annoying as the screen is so tiny (and I'm used to 2x 24" screens on my Vista desktop)

Why do you want a Mac? You can get much better deals from Dell etc. The novelty of OSX wears off after a bit, and mine wont even let me install Windows using BootCamp either.

The new glass ones are stupidly priced too. Can get similar laptops at double the spec for the same price. Stupid.

"Messers, login here" - Will the login information integrate with the current forum user/pass?

Yes. Hopefully. This functionality isn't built in, so I'm going to have to write it. I'm very busy at the moment (University finishes in under 6 months) but I am trying to find some time I can dedicate to this msn_happy.gif.

Also will we be able to comment on news stories within the new interface?
Yes. With your forum username and password as well (see above).

Zero1, I'm very excited about this!

Has Dwergs spoken about this little 'Few weeks' thing? msn_tongue.gif

Well, I've seen them like I said, and personally I think they look brilliant. I'll have a word with dwergs and see if he's ready to show off what he's done so far... msn_tongue.gif

I am incredibly excited too. I think dwergs has probably had enough of me prodding him every day asking for progress, but I wont stop till its out! This is the full whack too - not just a template update, but a complete new iteration (brand spanking new everything, with all the features that we've been asking for for ages).

QUOTE (psyko @ Nov 13 2008, 11:05 PM) *
I hate to say it, but we've been told that a few years ago...

Yeah, I know. The update is well overdue.

We had a few false starts before, people were very busy and not much progress was ever made so things just never got off the ground. This time however SIGNIFICANT progress has been made, and personally I'm extremely happy with what has been done. As for a time-scale I cant really give one, as its Dwergs who is in charge of all of this so I don't know if he wants to add / change anything on what we currently have ready. However, what i've seen looks pretty feature complete and final.

I'm confident that Dwergs has things under control, and hopefully a release should be imminent...

(might be why msn_tongue.gif)

Happy Birthday msn_happy.gif.

Facebook has indeed taken off. I personally use it for different things though - usually to keep in touch with friends, whereas messenger I use for business and for friends... Messenger just seems a lot quicker if you need to get a reply from someone urgently. Facebook chat is OK for certain circumstances, but its pretty unstable i've found and at work leaving facebook open isn't a good idea.

If all goes to plan then yes - I cant give an exact time-scale because its a work in progress, but i'm hoping it will be very soon that we can show something... msn_happy.gif.

I dont believe there is a way to do this in the current version. It's a beta though, so maybe they will add it with the next release! msn_happy.gif

They are a lot smaller than a lot of the American cars though msn_wink.gif. My car is 4.5 meters long though, but thats fine. It's worth it pp.gif. Width is about the same as other cars...

Saw a hummer around Surrey yesterday... Was taking up the WHOLE width of the road (was a two lane road). Why on earth would anyone buy a car like that?

Am at my parents house for easter, so dont have my desktop with me.

This is my current setup:

Because I forgot my long ethernet cable I have my 360 connected via ethernet to my mac, and my mac routing traffic over the wireless to the router. Sound is also routed through my laptops speakers.

Ben, that may be so but only with the larger models with smaller engines (520i/d, 720). BMW engines are pretty rock solid, as is almost all of the car. My 3 series is a lot nippier than most of my friends cars, even those with small hatchbacks. The main problem with BMW's is the electrics... My drivers side window is a bit dodgy to say the least. I can live with that though.

I think the best BMW made alloys are definitely the M6's (also a pretty awesome car to drive):

The price of those things though... Mine has the default 3 series alloys and they are good enough for me pp.gif.

Easy enough to say when your fuel is 64p/litre. Ours is DOUBLE that in some places... I usually pay about 65 ($137 AUD) for a full tank of petrol (60 litres).

Milk is a lot cheaper than petrol here... Petrol is even more expensive than beer. Even the cheapest beer. Nuff said.
