Hey guys my housemate decided playing network games on our 2mb line we share is a good idea however the rest of us disagree

Its a game called Guild Wars which is causing the mass lack of bandwidth here, and its a nuisance you can block it on its default port 6112 and it moves automatically to port 80 causing anymore problems. Has anyone got any ideas how we can block it completly, perhaps an ip range of the gaming servers or something

Please help

Guild Wars is a good game.

I say... tell him if he wants to continue to play it he should pay extra per month to upgrade the connection to a faster rate.

If he disagrees cap him to 1kb/s for a while msn_wink.gif.

you should be able to block the connection (i forgot the word im thinking of) and then it won't be able to go through any port.

at least you can do that on my firewall.

say i didn't want anyone on my network to connect to msnm services, then i block all msnm connections and it won't connect.

can't really offer any more help.
