Profile pic irritation, Appears and disappears Options

Hiya,

I hope someone can help me: I have a friend on MSN who went awol some months ago. His profile pic disappeared. Now, all of a sudden this footie profile pic (which he used before) is back. MSN says he had no recent activities... still I wonder if HE put the pic back up or if MSN did it automatically (but how? and why? and why THIS pic and not another one?). Does the re-appearing pic mean he was online or is it just MSN? It would be lovely to know he was back on MSN and activated his old pic but I don't know if the pic means he was online and changed his settings... could someone tell me what possibly did happen?
