TBH, If they are serious about the tabs bar and the what's new feed on that location it really is time for Microsoft to remove the ad themselves. There's too much content at the bottom covering your real contactlist.

I know you can, and I do. But the interface with the default options on, which they present to all their users, is just ridiculous.

Well, It doesn't really bother me, I've given up on making Windows Live Messenger Pretty and Customized, I just use it for what it was meant and thats all. (I even cleaned out my contact list, went from about 150 contact to 20ish)
