I'm extremely disappointed in mess patch. I ran it a total of three times, changing things up to see how I liked them. I open it to change settings and finalize everything, and it won't run. I've re-downloaded Windows Live Messenger and Mess Patch about 10 times, restarting after downloads, and updating everything. It refuses to work.
What version messenger and patch are you running? Note there is only Mess Patch Light for WLM 2009 (you probably already knew that).

I'm using Windows Live Messenger 8.1.0178, and Mess Patch version 8.5.1302.1018. I really hope you can help me...
Yeah I think you are using the wrong version of the patch. If you go here http://patch.mess.be/?p=download and then from the drop down under version history select 8.1.

Make sure you are patching an original unmodifed Windows Live Messenger (no skins, other patches, etc...). If you want to patch Windows Live Messenger more than once don't forget to restore your backups each time.
